My name is Ester Durães and I live in Portugal.
I was born in Paris (France) 19 years ago.
Since I was a kid, I always felt the need to express myself through art. I enjoyed painting, drawing, cutting, and pasting. I even enjoyed throwing out paper and I saw it as art.
Through the years, I've always enjoyed drawing and painting the most, but I never saw myself as a complete artist. I would draw something very easy, just a little more upgraded than stick-figures or otherwise I would trace the lines. As for painting, I would do colour-by-number and I would reproduce some very well-known paintings or I'd just do some abstract splashing of colour, totally meaningless for me.
I always tought I would study Art but, when it came the time to make a decision, the fact that there's no job in my country for artists had its weight and I ended up making a different choice.
At the age of 15, already studying something odd, I randomly picked up a pencil on a class and I felt that joy on drawing again. I looked at my masterpiece and I felt I couldn't have done best. I was so proud. Since then, I've been drawing, remembering the artist I was as a child.
I truly believe you have to let yourself go, be free, take risks to express yourself and your feelings through Art.
Art is a journey that I want to go through for a time that I don't know when will end. :heart:
